Fable 2 - Bigger World, New Engine

A month has come and gone since Lionhead's last Fable 2 milestone, and with today's community update Sam Van Tilburgh (Head of Communities) tells us more about the "much bigger" world of Albion, and about the new engine that will bring it all to life. Virtually speaking, of course. With a design document currently standing at 1,364 pages, Lionhead's role-playing sequel promises to be everything Fable fans have ever hoped for, and then some!

Xbox 360 Online Hard Drive Possible?

Under the question in the linked FAQ, "Do I need a hard drive to run XNA-based games on my Xbox 360 console? ". The answer says, "requires that a physical hard drive be present". Does this mean that a non-physical hard drive is possible? Perhaps Microsoft will allow you to store data on an Xbox Live Hard Drive?

Xbox 360 HD-DVD Addon for 200usd?

Microsoft will launch external HD-DVD drives for its Xbox 360 at a retail price of US$200 by Christmas of this year, and Taiwanese games developers and gaming services providers indicated this this is a smart marketing strategy as compared with Sony's adoption of built-in BD drives for its PlayStation 3.

PS3 to require adapter for PS2 / PSone game saves

Sony revealed this week that the Playstation 3 will require an adapter for consumers to load Playstation 2 or Playstation game saves.

The new PS3 consumer website explains that PS3 owners must copy onto a virtual memory card within the hard disk with a PS2/PSone memory card adapter. The adapter will allow owners to edit, upload, and download game saves to and from an EMS flash card or smart media card.

Nintendo DS game Brain Age tops 4M in sales

Nintendo on Thursday announced that the Nintendo DS offering Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day has sold more than 4M units worldwide.
The game, which dropped stateside on June 5, has sold 600,000 in the Americas, 3M in Japan, and 500,000 in Europe.

Taiwan game industry favors Microsoft's external Xbox 360 HD-DVD drives

More bad news for Sony and Blu-ray as well. At DigiTimes this morning, we can read that the Taiwan gaming industry thinks that an external drive is the way to go, as it is more marketable. Even in light of Blu-rays greater storage capacity, the Microsoft Xbox is going to be the console the gaming developers and gaming service industry will back in Taiwan. They mention that the price of the external HD-DVD drives are expected to be at around 200 dollars US and they will be available by Christmas.

Ford Motor Company and Eidos Interactive are teaming up to release a game called Ford Bold Moves Street Racing. The game will be available for PS2,XBOX, and PC this fall in North America. Featured in the game will be 18 Ford Licensed cars.
